We provide pickup service and house calls for grandfather clock repair. We also provide grandfather set up and packing services. We're an authorized Howard Miller grandfather clock repair center and have been for the last 24 years. We will come to your home and remove the movement from your clock. We will only take what is needed to insure proper operation of your clock in our shop on one of the 7 grandfather clock run in racks we have, This will usually include the movement, weights, pendulum, hands and sometimes the face depending on the type of grandfather clock you have. Our service area is approximately within a 25 miles radius of our shop and includes the south St Louis area, Arnold, Fenton and the south county areas. More and more house calls I go on people are telling me that when they call the places in the city wanting some information on getting their grandfather clocks repaired the first thing they ask them is how old is the clock. One nice lady told them it was about 20 years old and they told her that it’s going to need a new movement at an estimated cost of $700. Wow! How can people do this and sleep at night. The most I've ever charged for a grandfather repair is in the shop right now. It's a huge 9 tube triple chime that required a couple of bushings to be replaced. So 2 trips to their house 28 miles away which is one trip to remove the movement and one to install. Clean, Disassemble movement, install 2 press-in bronze bushings. Clean the parts again, re-assemble, regulate and insure proper operation and the cost is going to be $288.00. Most commonly it runs around $180. Please call me if you feel like they are trying to take you to the cleaners. We haven’t been in business for the past 27 years by treating people badly. 	Once we have removed the movement from your grandfather clock we will perform an onsite inspection of the movement in your house. This inspection will include the general condition of the movement to include any indications of worn pivots and any other items that might need attention in our shop. Any items that might require additional work resulting in a higher repair price will be shown and explained to the customer before leaving the house. We like to include the customer in the decision process and will never quote a price and then blindside you with a higher bill then was explained before leaving. Once your movement has been disassembled, cleaned, re-inspected and lubricated with the finest synthetic clock oil available it will be placed on one of our run in fixtures to insure proper time keeping and synchronizing of the chime and strike mechanisms. We run the grandfather movement for a minimum of one week to insure proper time keeping and operation. Occasionally other issues will present themselves once the movement has been cleaned in our 220V industrial ultrasonic cleaner that was not evident while in your house. If any additional issues are found with your movement we will always contact you to discuss the proper repair(s) required. Some of them might just be recommendations to insure a long trouble free experience with you fine time piece. Remember this is your clock and we want you to be involved in the decision making.

If while performing a grandfather clock house call and there is a need to have any other type clocks (mantel clock, cuckoo clock or small wall clock etc) that need servicing there will be no additional pickup or delivery charge outside of what we usually charge for in shop. Your clock will be repaired and returned along with your grandfather clock. Another service we offer is if the owner knows how to remove the movement from there clock and brings it to our shop along with at a minimum the movement, weights, pendulum and hands there will be a cost saving as only one trip to your house is requires to return and setup the grandfather clock.
